תניאTanya Explained

About

להגדיל תורה ולהאדירה

Our aim

Lehagdil Torah ul’ha’adirah, to make Torah great and glorious (Yeshayahu 42:21). The Tanya is one of the deepest books in Jewish thought: a map of the soul, read and re‑read for over two hundred years, where every line opens onto another layer. Our aim is to help people understand it, and through it to appreciate the greatness of Torah itself.

What you will find here

A free resource that makes the Tanya accessible, chapter by chapter. For each chapter of Likutei Amarim there is the original Hebrew, a plain English translation, an explanation section by section, the yesod (the core idea of the chapter), and points to ponder. No sign‑up and no charge.

Where it comes from

The explanations draw on the shiurim of great teachers, above all Rabbi YY Jacobson’s series A Tale of Two Souls, together with classes by Rabbi Manis Friedman and Rabbi Naftali Silberberg. Every section lists its sources, with links to the exact minute in the class. The explanations are written fresh, in our own words; short quotations are attributed.

Any mistakes are ours, not the teachers’. If you find one, please tell us.
